About the Client
DiveIn is a SaaS platform for social good. They’re striving to change how people connect with their communities and engage in worthy causes by facilitating community event discovery, volunteer opportunities, and social gatherings.
The Situation
DiveIn had several projects that they had to put on the backburner, simply because they didn’t have the local staff available. They tried to fill positions by posting ads online. Unfortunately, they largely came up empty. Positions were staying open for too long, and existing staff was overworked and demoralized. Work was stacking up.
After meeting with principals from DiveIn and learning about their projects, we created an image of the ideal project team. Our goal was to identify both the talents and personality types that would be best able to complete projects that were currently pending.
Once we knew what the perfect team would look like, we began creating a recruiting strategy. We were careful to keep DiveIn management in the loop through the entire process. When it came time to implement our strategy, everyone was in sync, and we were confident in moving forward.
The Solution
In short order, a dedicated team was assembled. While we did much of the heavy lifting, it was DiveIn staff who conducted the interviews, and who made the final decision when it came time to filling each position. Our role was creating the recruiting strategy as mentioned above, screening initial applicants, and creating a ‘short list’ of the most qualified.
The staffing needs in this case were for experienced, PHP developers to complete projects relating to a web and mobile app hosted on Amazon Web Services. This team would be tasked with designing website architecture, launching a new website, working on Amazon infrastructure, and developing a load balancer on Amazon, conducting ongoing work to scale the app, and working on backend and frontend architecture.
We were provided with the technical requirements for these projects. Our target, employee profiles were based on these requirements. We were able to hasten the hiring process, by helping DiveIn find the best possible candidates.
We assisted in the training and onboarding of the new team members and provided support to existing staff as they worked to integrate the new hires. Ultimately, the recruited team was able to complete the pending projects successfully. Further, and most importantly DiveIn’s management is confident that their team is now capable of meeting future challenges.
The Results
Thanks to the assistance and insights we were able to provide, DiveIn now has a talented team of developers helping them keep up with new projects, as their business and customer base continues to grow. In addition to this, we are able to provide further assistance to them via project management, IT consulting, training, as those needs emerge in the future.
“Kirill, along with his team at Brainberry Group were a real asset in our efforts to find the right talent to complete several projects that we had in our queue. Not only did they help us find the talent we needed, their staff members came on site to help manage, motivate, and train our team. At the same time, they were able to focus on onboarding our distributed development team. We consider them to be a real asset when it comes to talent acquisition and growth.”
